“Documents Required for FSSAI License in India”
1. FSSAI Basic Registration
(for small businesses with turnover < ₹12 lakh/year)
Documents needed:
- Passport-size photo of the applicant
- Government ID proof (PAN / Aadhaar / Voter ID)
- Address proof of business premises (rent agreement / electricity bill)
- Details of food products to be handled
2. FSSAI State Licence
(for turnover ₹12 lakh to ₹20 crore/year)
Documents needed:
- All documents from Basic Registration
- Form-B (duly filled and signed)
- Partnership deed / Incorporation certificate / Shop & Establishment certificate
- Food Safety Management Plan (FSMS) or certificate
- List of food products to be manufactured or sold
- List of directors/partners/proprietor with ID proofs
- Layout plan of the processing unit (if applicable)
- Water analysis report (if manufacturing is involved)
3. FSSAI Central Licence
(for turnover > ₹20 crore/year or export/import businesses)
Documents needed:
- All documents from State Licence
- Import Export Code (IEC) certificate (for export business)
- Ministry of Commerce NOC (if required)
- List of equipment and machinery used (if manufacturing)
- Authority letter with name and address of responsible person
- Annual turnover proof / balance sheet
Notes
- Documents must be self-attested and uploaded in PDF or JPEG format.
- The type of licence depends on business turnover and nature of activity (manufacturing, distribution, storage, retail, export, etc.).
